Barrier crimes: All applicants must meet and, during the term of their employment, continue to meet all applicable criminal background check requirements and character standards under the terms of the Alaska Barrier Crimes Act (“ABCA”) at AS 47.05.300 et seq. and the regulations at 7 AAC 10.900 – 7 AAC 10.990.  Applicants must not have been charged with, convicted of, found not guilty by reason of insanity for her, or adjudicated as a delinquent for or to any crime that would prevent from providing services under ABCA as specified at 7 AAC 10.900 – 7 AAC 10.990. Applicants will notify the Native Village of Nuiqsut immediately upon being charged with any such crime prohibited under ABCA.

Administration

Provides administrative and governance support and maintains an organized office environment.

Leads administration, programs, and coordination with industry and government on behalf of the Tribe.
Ensures Tribal Citizens receive services and supports Council priorities and community well-being.

This position supports Tribal Citizens with eligibility and completion of aid and scholarship applications.

Homemaker Program

The Homemaker Program is built on respect for our Elders and the role they play in our community. Homemakers provide practical, non-medical support that helps Elders remain independent and connected. If you are dependable, respectful, and willing to serve our Elders in meaningful ways, we encourage you to learn more.

Lead Homemaker Updated 1/26

Provides direct Elder support while also helping coordinate schedules, communicate with program staff, and support homemakers as assigned. This role serves as a point of contact for day-to-day homemaker activities and helps ensure services run smoothly. Non-medical role with program oversight.

Provides respectful, non-medical support to Elders, including light housekeeping, errands, outings, and wellness check-ins. Supports Elders in remaining comfortable and independent in their homes. Training and program support provided.

Hunts for Elders and provides subsistence foods in accordance with program guidelines. May also assist with preparing and storing subsistence foods. This role supports traditional practices and Elder wellbeing.
